Philippians (Part 8)

Don't put confidence in the flesh, because it’s:

• Weak — The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41)

• Deceptive — The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

• Limited — Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)

• Proud — The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. (Proverbs 8:13)
