Words To Live By
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."

Why is it that so often we hear sermons that challenge our spirits to where we literally feel we could conquer the world, then a week later it’s all but a faint memory in the hard drives of our brains? We as a people are so concerned with ourselves that concerns for others more often than not are ethereal thoughts that make us feel good by suppressing the nagging conviction that at least we were moved and after all isn’t that noble? The bottom line is to ask the tough question: Does thinking about something suffice or does the Lord really want us to pursue Him to see how He wants to use us in the pursuit of bringing reform to the particular issue we’re being convicted about?
I remember those piercing words from the book of Jude, verse 12: “These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted.” Our action pretty much determines what we really are convicted about. Jesus said that whatever we do for the least, we do for Him. This is a hard hitting principle. Truth about works is great in a sermon, but do we really believe it? Here’s the test: if we believe it, then it will yield a result, plain and simple.
So here is my admonition, as we spend time with the Spirit of God seeking His heart let’s make a determination and resolve to practice what the Holy Spirit is leading us to do. Let’s determine not to be clouds without water, but to be living epistles so that all men may easily read our content and determine our composition and by our full devotion to Jesus we are used to advance His kingdom not detract from it.
I love you. Be blessed, Pastor Clifford
